You raise a good question on checking whether or not changing those dates is an issue. I would argue that the changed dates are already broken anyway, so any current use of them is broken as of now.
Do we fear that fixing them could make some scripts to be repaired? Would that be harmful? I've no idea what scripts would be using `meta-release` and relying on the `Date` field.
