For users experiencing workspace switch freezes with Compiz, please
ensure your installation is fully up-to-date. The bug has been addressed
in several package and Ubuntu releases (notably Compiz versions
post-0.9.9.0), but older releases like 11.04 and 14.04 may still be
affected depending on your update status. If the problem persists, try
switching to a different window manager or temporarily disabling desktop
effects as a workaround. For developers, additional diagnostic logs can
be provided by running 'apport-collect 815996' to aid further
investigation. If you are using Ubuntu Xenial or a later release and
still encounter this, please specify your hardware, driver, and exact
Compiz version in any follow-up comment to assist maintainers with
targeted fixes.
