[Bug 198087] [NEW] openssh connections not responsive

There are reported bugs about ssh connection being slow and users were complaining about slow LOGIN. The problem I'm reporting is not duplicate of slow LOGIN. 
I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 - I'm not reporting a source package name since I'm not sure the source of the problem.
When I login with ssh username at hostname to a remote host. I experience slow login time AND, IN ADDITION the responsiveness in terminal is horrible. When I type a character I need to wait 2-3 seconds to see it in terminal. This observation is valid when I connect to a Ubuntu Server machine or a server with Red Hat installation. So, I'm guessing it's problem in my system.
Anybody noticed this problem?
