[Bug 50385] Re: samba can't be launched by a normal user (qemu related)

This is a Debian/Ubuntu specific samba bug, as explained in comment #7
above.  It is not a qemu or kvm bug.  The QEMU -smb option works fine in
many other distributions, where it can be run as a normal user without
special permissions, and with multiple instances on the same machine.
This is a fantastic feature, and I hope the samba patch can be fixed so
we can support it in Debian/Ubuntu.

Note: I believe the -smb option was recently moved as a sub-option of
-net, but it is still supported by QEMU.
