[Bug 449395] [NEW] kvm freezes at graphical boot splash

Binary package hint: qemu-kvm

When starting kvm with vesa emulation (-vga std), kvm freezes at the new
graphical boot splash and shows a black screen. Kvm boots fine when
removing the 'splash' option from /boot/grub/grub.cfg in the guest.  I
first noticed the problem after upgrading to 2.6.31-13.

Command I use start kvm:  kvm -vga std -soundhw es1370 -m 512M -hda
ubu0910.cow

root at tnolte:~# dpkg -l qemu-kvm
ii  qemu-kvm       0.11.0-0ubuntu Full virtualization on i386 and amd64 hardwa

root at tnolte:~# lsb_release -rd
Description:	Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
