Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.
I can see two errors:
Setting up mysql-server-5.0 (5.1.30really5.0.75-0ubuntu10.2) ...
* Stopping MySQL database server mysqld
...done.
* Reloading AppArmor profiles ...
...done.
* /etc/init.d/mysql: WARNING: /etc/mysql/my.cnf cannot be read. See
README.Debian.gz
* Starting MySQL database server mysqld
...done.
/usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Access denied for user 'debian-sys-maint'@'localhost' (using
password: YES)'
This is bug 153868.
And then:
Setting up mysql-server-5.0 (5.1.30really5.0.75-0ubuntu10.2) ...
* Stopping MySQL database server mysqld [80G
[74G[ OK ]
* Reloading AppArmor profiles ... [80G
[74G[ OK ]
[33m*[39;49m /etc/init.d/mysql: WARNING: /etc/mysql/my.cnf cannot be read. See README.Debian.gz
* Starting MySQL database server mysqld [80G
[74G[ OK ]
/etc/init.d/mysql: line 115: /etc/mysql/debian-start: No such file or directory
The configuration files have probably been deleted. Try to purge the
package and reinstall it.
