Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: qemu-kvm
The kvm --daemonize option is broken
berni at pest:~$ sudo kvm --daemonize
kvm_create_vcpu: Input/output error
create_userspace_phys_mem: Input/output error
kvm_cpu_register_physical_memory: failed
(yes this also happens with a complete option set that used to start the
VM correctly). I traced this to debian/patches/04_fix-no-kvm-
segfault.patch, disabling this patch fixes the problem. Upstream commit
2252e733ea2163bd75f4ffdc5494cfbfe00ca069 fixes a very similar problem,
which was probably introduced by your
e09a5267adf0af25b55d2abaf06e288b2d9537ea sent upstream.
** Affects: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
