re,

no, /var/lib/ldap and /var/lib are the standard locations, not modified
at all.

the bug is also triggered if I don't delete /var/lib/ldap after having purged slapd (in a purge/reinstall cycle):
   - purge slapd / install slapd -> bug.
   - purge slapd / rm -rf /var/lib/ldap / install slapd -> bug
