Hello

Yes, I am a complete failure as a Linux maintainer... ;-) on the newly
installed system I immediately spotted the problem (colision with
another package not showing in the previous system probably because of
further corruption) and confirm that after purge you can re-install
dovecot-postfix.

Rolf, on my part you may close the bug, but the need of using purge on
some systems should be investigated. If I discover anything else I will
post it here.
