For cloud-init, and my own sanity, i'm going to remove the comment from this file.
Also, it seems that fedora/rh also do things like:
<gholms> HOSTNAME="$(cat /etc/hostname)"
<gholms> hostname "$HOSTNAME"

+ cloud-init should not write comment in /etc/hostname
