Thanks for the info.  I was hoping you could test with
git://git.qemu.org/qemu.git so we could know if this is fixed in the
upstream development tree.

Separately, the next time it is hung, could you show the results of

  ifconfig -a
  brctl show
  arp -n
  netstat -nr
