Public bug reported:
Ubuntu LTS 12.04.1 is still shipped with php 5.3 for back compatibility reasons. For LDAP users one of the best improvement coming with PHP 5.4 is the native support of paging to browse big ADs.
It would be possible to ship a patched version of LDAP, already available here for debian https://github.com/jcharaoui/moodle-cegep/wiki/PHP-LDAP-paging---Debian-squeeze-PHP-5.3.x-patch to enable paging support in ubuntu LTS?
Usually LTS are used in enterprise, and enterprises usually use AD making this a key feature.
Best regards,
Denis
