Dear Yolanda,

Thank you very much for the help. I did sudo apt-get install for the
package you mentioned and got a message saying it was already after which
samba was upgraded successfully.
libtext-iconv-perl is already the newest version.
Suggested packages:
  openbsd-inetd inet-superserver smbldap-tools ldb-tools ctdb
The following packages will be upgraded:
  samba
