Public bug reported:
Guys,
I'm installing Ubuntu on a IPv6-Only environment and the default
"servers" that come with ntp package, doesn't have an AAAA entry, look:
---
# Use servers from the NTP Pool Project. Approved by Ubuntu Technical Board
# on 2011-02-08 (LP: #104525). See http://www.pool.ntp.org/join.html for
# more information.
server 0.ubuntu.pool.ntp.org
server 1.ubuntu.pool.ntp.org
server 2.ubuntu.pool.ntp.org
server 3.ubuntu.pool.ntp.org
# Use Ubuntu's ntp server as a fallback.
server ntp.ubuntu.com
---
---
root at server-1:~# ping6 ntp.ubuntu.com
unknown host
---
However, "apt-get update / upgrade" works just fine, look:
---
root at server-1:~# ping6 -c 1 us.archive.ubuntu.com
PING us.archive.ubuntu.com(likho.canonical.com) 56 data bytes
64 bytes from likho.canonical.com: icmp_seq=1 ttl=51 time=177 ms
--- us.archive.ubuntu.com ping statistics ---
1 packets transmitted, 1 received, 0% packet loss, time 0ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 177.804/177.804/177.804/0.000 ms
---
Best,
Thiago
