export APACHE_PID_FILE=/var/run/apache2/apache2$SUFFIX.pid
root at maas:~# ls -la /var/run/apache2/
total 0
drwxr-xr-x  2 root root   40 Aug 28 13:22 .
drwxr-xr-x 31 root root 1040 Aug 28 13:23 ..
root at maas:~# service apache2 restart
 * Restarting web server apache2                                         [fail] 
 * There are processes named 'apache2' running which do not match your pid file which are left untouched in the name of safety, Please review the situation by hand.
root at maas:~# ps -fe|grep apache2
