Public bug reported:

# apt-cache policy iptraf
iptraf:
  Installed: 3.0.0-8.1
  Candidate: 3.0.0-8.1

In iptraf:

Statistical breakdowns...
--> By TCP/UDP port
--> ethX

The bottom of the screen (status bar) now shows (example values):
"Protocol data rates (kbytes/s): 0,00 in 50,00 out 50,00 total"

Bug:
The "in" rate always stays 0,00 (and therefore the our rate equals always the total rate). The statistics above show corectly, that data is send or received. But regardless of in or out data, only an (average) out value ist shown (even if only data is received).

Expected:
Outgoing packages/data should be used for the out value calculation and incoming packages/data for the in data calculation.

Example:
Two connections:
TCP/http --> Receiving data (for example a online-straming-video is playing)
TCP/ssh --> Sending data (backup to a remote computer)

For both connections the status bar schows:
"Protocol data rates (kbytes/s): 0,00 in XX,00 out XX,00 total"

** Affects: iptraf (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
