Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu.

We apologise for the late response, but Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin reached EOL
on April 28, 2017. See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases:

Please upgrade to the latest version and re-test.  If the problem is still
reproducible, please update this bug with the new information.

Do feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

I suspect in this case you may have a bad configuration
/etc/samba/smb.conf. Unfortunately it's not attached to this bug, and
since this is a very old report I doubt the file is still available.
