dapper and MS Active Directory Integration

Hi!

Im evaluating dapper and I have a few questions about dapper and
integration with MS Active Directory.

If one are to join a server to an AD domain you need the winbind package
which is in universe. Are packages in universe also supported for 5 years
or will winbind be moved from universe?

the samba version currently in dapper (3.0.21a) has a serious flaw in
winbind
which in a few days will leak so much memory that the kernel will starting
killing
processes.

Winbind is also needed by squid but the squid package in ubuntu has a bug
that
will prevent the wbinfo_group.pl helper from working. This bug is filed at:

https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/squid/+bug/29228

Hopefully these things will be fixed in time for the dapper release.
