Status of Ubuntu server?

Hi all
I use ubuntu server (dapper) since quite a while and am mostly happy
with it. However I have some questions/points:
- There is Edgy Server, but since Dapper has LTS and is supposed to be
more stable, there is no reason (excepted maybe newer software) to use
Edgy as server. Personally I would be happy with Dapper and a newer
Kernel (to support new hardware), but there are no official packages
AFAIK.
- Dapper comes with a special Server Kernel. Edgy however installs
just the "generic" Kernel. (I only tried the AMD64 version of Edgy)
- Another issue I had is RAID. It's currently not possible to
configure RAID 01 or 10 with the Ubuntu installer. But if you use
mdadm on the console it works. Also if the root partition is on RAID
1, I could not figure out how to make Ubuntu to install grub on both
physical drives when updating the kernel..
Regards Nils
