I reviewed the https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ServerGUI page and
made some changes to describe running just x11 clients over ssh, and
a few details about avahi - see the Page History for details.

I suggest this for a factoid entry, and will work with the folks in
#ubuntu-ops to teach it to ubotu if folks like it:

servergui:

 Ubuntu server does not install a desktop environment or X11 by
 default in order to enhance security, efficiency and performance.
 !eBox provides a GUI management option via a web interface.  See
 https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ServerGUI for more background and
 options.
