Hi guys,
I have a desktop that's masquerading as a server now - at login motd has
a warning about not having NX enabled[0]. Running check-bios-nx claims
the processor is NX-capable, but the BIOS has disabled it[1].
I upgraded the BIOS & checked in the settings, but saw no such option.
I've attempted to find my processor in Intel's processor listing[2], but
without identifying it precisely. Regardless, I'm not sure that the
processor does support NX... it is pretty old. Here's the info I have:
[2], [3].
Is there a way to know for sure without being able to identify the
processor definitively, or is check-bios-nx it? Or maybe it is not a
critical issue and I shouldn't worry?
Thanks for any help,
- -Mike
