This bug is a bit confusing and we still can't reproduce it, so I
decided to take a step back and ask for more information from the
reporter.

Interesting request.  I did some digging and found a possible security
implication of doing what the reporter asked, so I left a comment
explaining the rationale, suggesting next steps, and marked the bug as
Triaged/Wishlist for now.
