Hi,
The source file of the logo is SVG(who design logos in bitmaps? :P)
For the same reason you release the drafts of your brochures, I am posting
versions of the logo(in PNG) up (albeit only in the mailing list) for
feedback/approval. I am being cautious about the release of the svg is
because I want make sure that everyone participating in this project will
use the same SVG whether they are in charge of the brochures, posters, forms
or website.
And to share knowledge with everyone here, work on the logo does not end
with just the basic design. Once this design is done, I will have to go
create more branding items, such as a logo with the "ubuntu-sg" tag. A black
and white logo for the black/white printing will need to be created too. If
you look at the ubuntu logo wiki, you'll realised that they have a lot of
versions of the same logo, each with a specific purpose, be it for print or
web. The very thing that sets ubuntu apart from other distros is their
strong branding and community, I believe this is something we should follow.
Of course, if this is not the direction we're taking, I'm happy just
contributing one logo :)
If you guys are ok with my final design, I will upload the SVG by tonight
since i am in office now.
