Hi there!
I'm Kang Heong, a new (but enthusiastic!) Ubuntu user in Singapore.
I was introduced to it by a classmate of mine in NUS, where I am
currently pursuing a Computing degree. Admittedly, my computing PC
world-view prior to that was exclusively Windows-centric. After using
Ubuntu for 3 months (and counting) and getting my head around PPAs and
filesystem nuances, I must say I am hooked.
I would be honoured to help out in the SG Ubuntu Loco team in any way I
can - managing web/social presence (I believe we can do better than
ubuntu.sg being a WordPress Hello World and not having a Facebook Page),
responding to newbies queries on forums, writing guides and tutorials, etc.
I'm not sure what (if any) are the activities going on in the SG Ubuntu
space, so if anyone can fill me in, that would be much appreciated! Am
up for coffee (my treat, of course) if that means I am brought up to speed.
Windows 8 was underwhelming; iPhone sales has slowed; Ubuntu, however,
has all-time high user adoption and is making a leap to the phone. I
believe this is an exciting time to be spreading the good news of
Ubuntu, and look forward to doing it with everyone (or alone)!
Humbly,
Kang Heong
