Guys,
Can we do something productive instead of griping over age old issues that will never be resolved if nothing is done.
First and foremost, Ben needs resources for someone who is Linux-proficient, or I would say Linux literate.
Secondly, if we are going to rekindle the fire that is burning off, let’s think of something to help spread Linux.
Its near the end of the year, we can start to plan ahead of the things that we can do for the community. The last I hear was from Koh Suhaw who setup an IT space with PPIS Jurong using Linux. Nobody lent a hand.
I for one intend to hold simple hands on training on getting users to install Ubuntu, run a web server and probably learn PHP and HTML to get started. This is good as an introductory lesson to Ubuntu.
There are of course other stuff that I can include such as setup your own BIND, ISC-DHCP and such.
I feel like giving back to the community what ever experience I gained through my work in the IT industry over the years and share with them, probably spark an interest to get Linux moving forward.
Let me know your thoughts. We can start simply from a small group of secondary students. Whoever has contacts with a secondary school teacher may be able to assist in this.
