Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:

We can sync the package as debian has updated install files for the 
python 2.6 transition

Changelog since current maverick version 5.2-1ubuntu1:

linkchecker (5.2-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Updated debian/*.install files for new default Python version
    (Closes: #587219)
  * Remove generated files in debian/rules clean target
  * Use new 3.0 Debian source format
  * Use new standards version 3.9.0 in debian/control
