I'm going to rework the patchset a bit.

I encountered an FTBFS locally IIRC and added git to Build-Depends but
when I tried to make a proper description of the issue to upstream my
change, I realized I wasn't able to fully explain why it fixed the FTBFS
(thanks m4 macros!). It seems it doesn't happen in PPA either so I'l
drop that. I also need to add the LP bug report number.
