The linux-mtk packages and a bunch of other kernel packages were also
found to be in violation of the HWE exception process established by the
Technical Board, and further direction needs to be discussed with the
Technical Board.

Title:
  [needs-packaging] mediatek-mdpd

Status in Ubuntu:
  Invalid
Status in The Jammy Jellyfish:
  In Progress

Bug description:
MDP is a hardware block in MediaTek Genio 350, 700, and 1200 SoC.
It is used to convert color formats of pixel buffers, such as YUYV to RGB,
NV12 to RGB, etc. It also provides support for an internal block format
  for MediaTek video decoder hardware.

MDPD (MDP Daemon) is a userspace driver for Genio 350. Genio 700 and 1200
does not require a userspace daemon because the logics have been consolidated
  to an co-processor firmware.

  Notes:
    1. This software is only verified on Ubuntu jammy.
MediaTek Genio for Ubuntu Noble is still in progress, so currently we want
to add it only in ubuntu jammy-updates archive.
    2. This update is a part of a group of package updating. Please hold these packages in proposed after they are approved and copy into jammy-updates at same time.
