this should be fixed now (21-1-11).

i poked around for this and remembered some issues before during natty.
after researching i contacted cjwatson and further changes were made beyond
what was done from natty (
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ffmpeg-extra/+bug/685049).
