I guess a lot of users prefer a minimal install with a stable
light-weight DE/WM. LXDE seems to be a good choice. After having such a
minimal default install, users will include what they need, to ensure
that no unneeded services will run, to ensure that the list of installed
apps is manageable, when starting to set up the install.
