i can't believe i did the same thing that drives me crazy about other
users.. i sent in a trouble ticket with no details!

DOH!

anyway..

i just installed ubuntu studio again, and  did the same sound fixes..
and this time it worked..

a few things i need to work out:

1. the sound for bassy stuff is really scratchy.. unusuable.. i am
guessing this might be a problem with jack.. so i will mess with it..

2. the notebook speakers don't turn off when you plug the headphones in.

3. the video driver is not the correct one, and looks kinda like poop..

4. the wifi doesn't work..

i will tear into this a little more over the next few days..
