While Xubuntu desktop settings have seen some evolution, the Ubuntu
Studio desktop settings have not changed much since the they were more
or less copied from Xubuntu's. This is true up until 15.10. Should
change with 16.04.

There has long been plans of making Ubuntu Studio be DE agnostic, which
would mean you install the DE you like to use when installing Ubuntu
Studio. Remains to be seen how and when that is implemented. At least
the desktop settings will be updated, and most probably they will be
based on Xubuntu desktop settings.
