Hi there,
I am working on a lofi multichannel project using a bunch (20+) of cheap usb audio dongles.
( similar to this https://core-electronics.com.au/usb-audio-adapter-works-with-raspberry-pi.html )
When I plug them in they all show up when i type lsusb in the terminal and if I open Carla and plug them in 1 by 1 (via a powered usb hub) and they show up as usable devices up until 9 . .but then they stop showing up (even though they are all listed when i type lsusb)

I'm just trying to work out where issue might be - a quick google tells me usb standard supports up to 127 devices but is there a limit on the amount of simultaneous audio devices Carla can recognise? (i get the same result with qjackctl)

any tips appreciated, I'm using kubuntu 20.04 + ubuntu studio installer. Thanks !
