ahi dice ke puedes resetear tu resolucion de dos maneras..

1. el modo grafico usando "resolucion de pantalla"... si usas gnome puedes encontrarlo en: SISTEMA>PREFERENCIAS>RESOLUCION DE PANTALLA.. 

y 2. usando la terminal y escribir: rm ~/.config/monitors.xml

la segunda ... no la he usado asi ke no puedo asegurar que te funcione.. :S.. tu prueba a ver que tal te va...
