It has not worked previously for Yahoo or for Gtalk.  I will have to look into it further.

Hello. Have you had this feature working in empathy at some point
before? As far as I can see, as per

and my testing, empathy does not support video chat with Yahoo. Video
chat should work with Gtalk though, so if that's not working for you
that may be a separate issue.

I right click on my Yahoo contact in Empathy and when the drop down menu
appears, the only option that I can actually click on is "chat".
Everything else is greyed out so that you cannot chose them.
