[Bug 919951] [NEW] long topic takes up too much space

Public bug reported:

In chat room window if topic is too long, it takes up all the space it
can find and there's no option to remove it. If I expand the chat
window, chat log is visible but shrunk and is very narrow - nothing is
visible.
