I had a long debugging session with the very helpful guys in #telepathy on freenode.
The problem is moved from the first ring to hangup by updating libtelepathy-glib0 from 0.18.0-1ubuntu1 to 0.18.1.

The whole issue is solved by rebuilding telepathy-logger ...
