This bug is this on for me as well, Ubuntu 12.04 (and 11.10). I
experience this problem since more than a year. It might sounds like
minor issue, but it's actually a very big issue usability-wise.

I've had hundreds of times when I though I copy-paste properly and I
didn't, because of that bug. It would be greatly appreciated if someone
can investigate it and fix it.
