[Bug 1072239] [NEW] Empathy is a memory hog

Steps to reproduce:

1 - Get a notification from a friend. Messaging menu turns blue.
2 - Open the notification menu. Click the incomming message notice.

Expected result:

Empathy's chat window opens fast and you can read and answer the
message.

Actual result:

Empathy halts for a significant ammount of time, sometimes  crashing,
sometimes opens a blank screen.
