Hi all,

There has been some discussions about organising local meetings, which
makes it easier for people to meet up and talk Ubuntu. Well, I just
created https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam/LocalMeetings and figured it
would be a good place to put local meetings.

Can I make a few suggestions though:

 * Try to pick relatively regional teams - instead of starting a new
meeting in every town, try to make meetings relatively regional. E.g.
instead of seperate Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry teams, make a
West Midlands meeting help somewhere central.
 * When organising meetings it sometimes takes a bit of effort to gee
people up to attending. Try and be as open and friendly as possible when
proposing a meeting.
 * Update the LocalMeetings page with your meeting and post to ubuntu-uk
with the date and details of your meeting. It is recommended to host
meetings on evenings or weekends so as many people as people as possible
can get along. :)
 * Try to schedule some talks, but also some social time in a pub or
somewhere. :)
 * Try to work with local LUGs to encourage combined meetings.

Lets hope we can get lots of regular meetings across the UK. :)
