You might find a Gutsy install gives you fewer problems - have you tried a =
LiveCD btw? Did you get a display when you booted that up?

<body>it didnt give me an option to install a prop driver,. infact i never =
even got to that stage. I got to the main menu. One normal "install ubuntu =
or run live CD" it starts loading. The little box fills up with the little =
orange color showing progress.. then then the screen goes blank and a blue =
screen appears....i scroll down and it mentions something about no monitor =
deteced and/or something about graphical interface and then it states GDM w=
