Try another non-Linux device and see if that also has the problem (do 
you have a phone with WiFi? A friend's non-Linux laptop?). If so, then 
you have interference or noise in one location. Microwave oven? Cheap 
cordless phone? Video sender? Washing machine? Next door's baby monitor?

Try replacing Network Manager with wicd and see if that fixes it. If so, 
then yes, you have found a bug in Network Manager. Report it on 
Launchpad and take the time to be as helpful as possible.

If wicd also has the problem, but your spare non-Linux device does not, 
then it is either the drivers or faulty hardware. Check forums for other 
people using the same hardware as you.
