I always head over to http://linuxprinting.org and consult their 
database of printers. Here is the link for your printer

and for its driver.

http://openprinting.org/show_driver.cgi?driver=capt&fromprinter=Canon-LBP-1120

There are some special instructions there for this type of printer,
