[ubuntu-uk] Which boot options on the live CD?

If the knoppix dvd gives you a grub prompt, edit the entry by pressing the 'e' key and reading the boot options

On the ubuntu cd's I think there is a menu option for adding extra parameters

Check the ubuntu wiki for common boot params, I think the usual ones are something along the lines of acpi=off and noapic
