This is the error message that I get :

abdul at abdul-OptiPlex-GX520:~$ python skype-info.py
Segmentation fault

Python 2.7.1+
Skype 2.2.0.35
python -c"import Skype4Py;print Skype4Py.__version__"
1.0.32.0

Sorry, no idea, it's not a complicated script at all... Was your Skype client running?
Could you please post the log of the error?  Just copy paste what's in the terminal from the line where you run the command.  If it is very long, please use a "pastebin" style site, and just post the link.

What version of Ubuntu are you running?  Please can you also post the results from these commands
python --versionskype --versionpython -c"import Skype4Py;print Skype4Py.__version__"
