And thanks to work on this, SevenMachines.

I'm not sure the change you propose in th e init file is equivalent to the one in the postinst:
- the line  in .postint says: chown -R $user:$user /var/run/$user
- but you replace it by: chown $USER:$USER /var/run/bld

Can you please report this to Debian, and see what the Debian maintainer
has to say about this install problem?
