I've heard a claim before that each new version of KDE supposedly runs
faster on the same hardware. I can't really comment further on this -
I'm a big GNOME user and have tried KDE over the years, but always end
up coming back to GNOME. Hopefully a KDE user has some insight because I
have tended to notice that GNOME can be a bit sluggish at times.
