[CoLoCo] touchscreen ubuntu?

My friend has one of those laptops that you can write on...

He installed Ubuntu and it didn't support the touchscreen features, nor
could he find any software to handle that sort of input.  At the very least
however, it did correctly detect the screen resolution and everything to
correctly use at the least as a notebook.
