I have two IP ranges to separate my home network from the computer
that is open to the world (the ssh server). I am trying to prevent
anyone who might gain access to the ssh box from getting any further.
Also, One wifi in an N and the other only G. I don't have full N
equipment yet so I let the G laptop and the games connect to the
Linksys.

I did try just the computer on the linksys with internet downloads and
they were as fast as normal. I have not tried transferring between two
computer connected just to the Linksys. I'll try that next. I could
also turn DHCP off on the dlink and see if that makes a difference
(i.e. still connected but everything getting an IP from the linksys).

I'll play around a bit more and see if I can isolate where the
slowdown is coming from.

Thanks,
Jim
