Email lists are great for many things. But I think they are miserable
for RSVPs, polls, address updates, and the like. In computer
algorithm theory this is the "N^2" problem - the number of messages
transferred is proportional to the square of the number of
participants. Do we all want to get 80 messages with RSVPs, updates,
cancellations, etc? 80 * 150(?) subscribers = 12000 deliveries....
So I hope Jim is willing to summarize results, and that people are
willing to respond directly to Jim with their plans, rather than
writing to the whole list.
Alternatively, it would seem even better to make a wiki page to
represent the attendance, so anyone can sign up, modify and/or check
any time.
The wiki-challenged would be free to get an expert to offer help
or to do the sign-up for them.
That's what we did with Ubucon-Boulder:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Ubucon-Boulder/Register
Anyway - thanks to Siblog, Jim and the other planners - sounds like
this will be a great event! I've got some conflicts, but I hope
to be able to resolve them and come!
